Ignatius Motshwane also known as “Iggy Smallz” was born on the 19th of November 1977.
Iggy was a DJ, producer, artist and songwriter, as well as station manager for YFM (Gauteng) and also ran his own recording label called “Smallz Sweet Sound”.
IGGY SMALLZ was born & raised in Atteridgeville, a township outside of Pretoria. At the time of his death, he was t from compiling music for GP’s biggest regional radio station YFM, he headed his own recording label Smallz Sweet Sound. He was also part & producer of the successful duo TWISTYLE who have 2 albums under their belt titled Who's Twistyle & Andarated. He has 3 CD compilations under his stage name Iggy Smallz: A Journey Through Guidance, Another Late Night, King Of Compilations-Queen Of Hearts, King Of Compilations-Queen Of Spades & his most recent release, Smallz Sweet Soundz.
As a producer Iggy worked with some of the industry’ s best, including producing tracks on, Ex-Bongo Maffin, SPEEDY’ s first solo album, THEBE’ s Chizboy, LEBO MATHOSA of Boom Shaka’s solo album, KEITH SWEAT’ s I’ll Trade A Million Bucks, T.K’s Black Butterfly, REVOLUTION’ s The Journey. Other albums he assisted in the final mixing include GLEN LEWIS & DJ FRESH’ s Gatecrasher Meets Afrika , MEGA’s One Million Mega Watts & REVOLUTION’ s The Journey Continues. Then he went on to co-produce GLEN LEWIS’ Mid-Tempo vol.1 album & YFM’s Back 2 Reality album.
In his short but successful life, Iggy Smallz became a household name in the music industry and has done well as a Dj, producer, artist & songwriter.
Iggy passed away in a car accident in Zeerust, North West Province on 11th December 2004.
